A ten year partnership developing the brand, interiors and marketing for The Ship Inn, a 10 bedroom boutique hotel on the South Coast of England. The pub was featured in the Good Pub Guide, The Good Hotel Guide, The Michelin Guide, and the Guardian's "Summer Pubs of the Year".
THE SHIP INN
The Ship is a boutique hotel in Rye. The building comprises ten en-suite bedrooms, a ground floor bar, a restaurant and various function rooms as well as outside seating – in all totalling around 120 covers.
We were partners in the venture, taking on the lease in 2007 and transforming what was then a struggling traditional pub with very little local trade into a successful independent hotel and gastro pub capable of serving the local people as well as attracting weekenders from London. We had trebled the turnover within five years and gained listings in the Michelin Guide, The Good Hotel Guide, The Good Pub Guide and Sawdays.
